NFPA 96 – What We Currently Know About Ultra Violet CKV Systems?
UV or ultra violet lamp technology has been around for a number of years and it is has been slow gaining acceptance for exhaust hood use. NFPA 96 has produced a draft Task Group White Paper that explains the basics of what we know in 2006. ASHRAE – Technical Subcommittee tc5.10 Kitchen Ventilation Meets Sunday!
Twice a year, the Kitchen Ventilation Technical Subcommittee often referred simply as tc5.10 meets during the semi-annual ASHRAE Conference. Chaired by Rich Swierczyna of the Architectural Energy Lab, this subcommittee is open to the public and is dedicated to improving the understanding and effectiveness of commercial kitchen ventilation. HOOD PERFORMANCE – Analysis of Island Hoods
A high priority project on ASHAE’s tc5.10 Kitchen Hood Subcommittee is to study and analyze island hoods from the standpoint of performance with regard to hood style, cross drafts and other factors. Approval of this project would provide designers after the study is completed with much needed guidance on how to design and use this type of hood.
