Code Revsion M60 creates interesting dialogue.
Tom Johnson
reports that industry interest is unusually strong regarding the
proposed change to the IMC code. This proposed change will require
interlocks on all cooking appliances to automatically activate the
exhaust fan whenever cooking operations occur. The deadline for comment

FIRE SAFETY – Calgary develops fire safety
initiative for owners/operators.
The City of Calgary, Alberta, Canada’s Fire
Department is establishing a program to inform foodservice owners
and operators about new fire safety measures that address NFPA96

EDUCATION – MAECO
and NRA begin this week in Chicago.
On Wednesday evening, MAECO, the Multi-Unit Architects and
Engineers bi-annual conference begins at the Millenium Knickerbocker
Hotel in Chicago with a kick-off reception. A day and a half
of presentations follow on Thursday through Friday morning.
CKV
will be represented by four speakers. Don Fisher of Fisher-Nickel,
Tom Johnson of Johnson Diversified Products, Derek Schrock
of Halton and George Zawacki of UP
YOUR STACK™ will each
be making presentations regarding commercial kitchen ventilation.
On
Saturday, May 21, 2005 the 86th annual NRA Show kicks off at
McCormick Place along Chicago’s beautiful lake front.
It runs for four full days through May 24. The hours are from
9:30 AM to5 PM each day.
