Up Your Stack
PUBLISHER’S CORNER –We enter our second year and continue to listen to you!

Here are some of our plans and thoughts for our second year.

Create a web log . If you are with the majority of us and do not have the faintest idea of what a web log (aka) blog is, or how one operates, please bear with us as we work to implement this faster way of communicating with you. We believe that creating an UP YOUR STACK™ web log will assist us to get ideas out to you more quickly than once a month.

While blogs were created as an on-line diary, technology is allowing blogs to become business communication tools. And after all, isn’t that what UP YOUR STACK™ is all about? A blog is a tool to quickly learn more about commercial kitchen ventilation or CKV in all its various respects. We will explain further when we announce the launch.

Day Rate for access to the Codes & Standards Database. We want to increase access to the database we created for all of the codes and standards that relate to commercial kitchen ventilation (CKV).

A new daily rate will allow anyone needing to research applicable codes and standards to access that information as needed. There will also be a monthly rate for those needing more frequent access to our database. Remember that this database was created to make it easy for you to find information that is available out in cyberspace, but can take many hours of research to find. And in the process, you may miss a code or standard that you really need to know about.

Product Directory becomes an open database. We will be opening the Product Directory to all users of UP YOUR STACK™ in the near future. This database is a compendium of all listed manufacturers of CKV related equipment across thirteen categories. You can readily identify for instance, all suppliers of fans, ductless hood systems, fire systems and hoods by scrolling through the listing. This is a valuable tool for specification writers, designers and purchasing agents.

THANK YOU

We will be making announcements in the next few issues of the UP YOUR STACK™ Newsletter as to when these new ideas will be implemented. In the meantime, thank you for continuing to join us each month. As always, we are eager to hear from you with your ideas, suggestions, and comments and of course any criticism you may wish to throw our way. See you at NAFEM at Gaylord’s Booth #1610.
